The Siloam Springs boys' soccer team scored five first-half goals on the way to a 7-0 win over Gentry at Panther Stadium on Feb. 28.

Ben Stratman and Anderson Lara scored two goals each in the first half, and Diego Palacios opened the Panthers' scoring 18 minutes in.

"I thought we came out and played a complete game offensively and defensively," Siloam Springs Coach Craig Moses said. "I thought we came out set to pace, set to tempo and it showed during the first half. "

Lucino Ramero scored in the second half to make it 6-0. Angel Penate scored the Panthers' last goal on a tap in.

"He's getting ready to have knee surgery next week," Moses said of Penate. "He won't be able to be with us the rest of the year. He's a senior. I was proud of him tonight getting that goal in."

Siloam Springs drew 0-0 with Bentonville West at Panther Stadium on Feb. 26 to open the season.

It was a hard, physical game, Moses said. The Panthers had chances, but could not score, Moses said.

"We played much more organized in defense," Moses said.

Siloam Springs lost 6-0 to Bentonville in a benefit home match at Panther Stadium on Feb. 20.

Siloam Springs played at Clarksville on Monday and hosted Green Forest on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time.
