The Siloam Springs School District has narrowed the applicants for the superintendent role to six.

Each candidate has administrative roles in six Arkansas public schools. Three committees -- the Central Administration Committee, Certified Employee Committee and Classified Employee Committee -- were scheduled to interview the applicants Tuesday and today, according to an email from Superintendent Jody Wiggins.

Wiggins resigned as superintendent at the Feb. 8 School Board meeting. He will become director of the Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative. His last day will be June 30. He will begin at the cooperative on July 1, he said.

Applicants will be selected to come back for an interview with the School Board based on feedback from the committee interviews and the information each applicant submitted in the application process, Wiggins said.

Travis Fletcher and Jonathan Warren are the two candidates with experience as superintendents, according to their resumes.

Fletcher is superintendent of the Concord School District, and Warren is superintendent of Huntsville Public Schools, their resumes state.

Three candidates now serve as assistant superintendents: Dr. Renata Bryant, Osceola School District No. 1; Anne Martfeld, Pea Ridge School District; and Shane Patrick, Siloam Springs School District, the resumes state.

The final candidate, Jason Jones, is the principal of Springdale High School, according to Jones' resume.

Jones and Martfeld previously worked for the Siloam Springs School District. Jones served as a physical education and social studies teacher, assistant principal and later principal for Siloam Springs High School from July 2003 to June 2018, his resume states.

Martfeld was the principal at Siloam Springs High School from July 2018 to July 2019, her resume states.

Patrick has served the School District since June 2019. Patrick began as director of operations before being promoted to assistant superintendent in July 2020, his resume states.
